The postholder will be responsible for the delivery of occupational-based therapeutic activity interventions to aid in the Recovery and rehabilitation of Male Learning Disability service users at the Broadland Clinic alongside colleagues in the OT lead Team and wider Multi-Disciplinary Team. Interventions may be offered as part of a group or individual basis. The postholder may be expected to work weekends and some early evenings as part of this role. All interventions offered will be under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist.

You will work alongside established Occupational Therapists, assistants, and education staff and an experienced MDT, including Medical, Nursing, SLT, Psychology, and Social Work colleagues.

HPFT works with Three Universities and supports the ongoing Occupational Therapy, Apprenticeship program.  

The Broadland Clinic is a medium secure unit for adult men who have offended or are at risk of doing so, we also have assessment and treatment and two community teams on site. Be part of our NHS trust, HPFT who are currently rated as "Outstanding" by CQC”.

  • To facilitate occupationally based groups as identified by an Occupational Therapist.
  • To work individually with service users on specific tasks and therapeutic activities as identified by an Occupational Therapist.
  • To promote a culture of engagement in meaningful occupation within the service in order to enhance quality of life.
  • To provide interventions in a manner that is consistent with Trust standards and values.
  • To provide feedback to the team regarding observed occupational performance during a session which will contribute to assessment and therapeutic interventions.
  • To maintain clinical records using the electronic patient record system.
  • To liaise with carers and other professionals as relevant.
  • To exercise good personal time management, punctuality and consistent, reliable attendance.
  • To attend mandatory training.
  • To undertake relevant activities to meet training objectives identified with your supervisor.
  • To keep a record of your training and development activities

QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION TRAINING

  • Basic Knowledge of Occupational Therapy
  • Maths and English GCSE grade C or above or equivalent
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and associated packages
  • Willingness to undertake relevant training to the post
  • Physical ability to complete 5 days, incident management, de-escalation, and physical intervention Training

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE
