Job overview
We are recruiting for a Clinical Nurse Specialist to work with the Head and Neck team and who shares our vision to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
This exciting role will give you the opportunity to contribute to the specialist care and management of patients, who are having treatment within MVCC.
You will gain a valuable insight into supporting patients at diagnosis and through the cancer pathway, including on and post treatment and when disease recurs or advances.
In addition, you will receive a High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of your basic salary, subject to a minimum payment of £4,134 and a maximum payment of £5,436 per annum pro rata.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will support the provision of care through screening programmes, nurse-led clinics, accepting referrals, undertaking diagnostic procedures, undertaking therapeutic procedures, physical assessments and obtaining written consent to treatment.
You will work closely with the Clinical Oncologists and the wider MDT and liaise with all appropriate members of multi-disciplinary team to ensure a seamless service between acute and primary care services.
You will be referring patients directly to specialists in other professions
Within your role, you will need to provide specialist knowledge and support to patients by phone or in person while in clinic.
You will also carry out holistic needs assessments with patients at specific time points within their journey.

- Post registration qualification in speciality
