To be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service

Job overview

We are recruiting for a Advanced Radiographer who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.

We are recruiting a developmental band 6/7 Radiographer (dependent on experience) to join our team.

The Centre is a specialist imaging unit (MRI, CT, PET/CT) with a large research commitment which requires highly specialised imaging knowledge.  We are closely linked with the Mount Vernon Cancer Centre and a large proportion of the workload is oncology related.  The post includes the ability to communicate highly complex information and provide reassurance to patients as well as regular participation in research and clinical trial activities.

This post requires high levels of flexibility and professional autonomy and includes an adaptable rotation through all three imaging modalities in the Centre.

In addition, you will receive a High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of your basic salary, subject to a minimum payment of £4,314 and a maximum payment of £5,436 per annum pro rata.

At the heart of everything we do are our core values: Include, Respect, and Improve. We encourage you to embrace these values throughout the recruitment process and in your role with us.

Main duties of the job

The Advanced Radiographer position includes an adaptable specialist rotation through all three diagnostic imaging modalities in the Centre.

There are opportunities to learn and refine a range of imaging skills and participate in research.

Line management opportunities and training will be provided. Full or part time applications are welcome.

We have 5 scanners:  2 x Siemens Sola MRI Scanners, Siemens Aera MRI Scanner, Siemens Force Dual Source Dual Energy CT scanner, , and Siemens Vision PET/CT scanner.

You will be responsible for maintaining high quality and safety standards in the clinical imaging areas of MRI, CT and PET CT, participating in the internal rotation scheme between modalities.

If selected to interview, you will be asked to prepare a short presentation (10 mins) entitled: Discuss the Qualities of a Competent Band 7 Radiographer.
