Are you an enthusiastic Children’s Nurse with a passion for working with Children and Young People with complex health needs?
Due to an expansion of our ever-growing caseload, we have an exciting and rewarding opportunity for a Band 6 Specialist School Nurse to join our team on a term time only basis.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with CYP with complex health needs and enabling them to thrive in the school setting, acting as a strong advocate for this vulnerable caseload. You will have proven experience in managing the unwell child and strong clinical skills with a keenness for teaching and sharing knowledge to support education staff.

Main duties of the job
The Specialist School Nursing Service at Hertfordshire Community NHS Trust provides evidence-based nursing care to Children and Young People with complex health needs across the four West Hertfordshire Specialist Schools. The successful applicant will work across the four schools in partnership with the other special school nurses.
This is a varied and dynamic role which involves working in partnership with children and families and liaising with professionals and agencies in order to meet the health, development, and safeguarding needs of the caseload.
The position requires an experienced Registered Children's Nurse who is passionate about meeting the health needs for children with disabilities in a way that maximises their opportunities. The role will require a significant amount of training for both health and education staff and the post holder will require good up to date clinical skills to deliver this.
You must hold a full, valid UK driving licence and have access to a car to use regularly for business purposes (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010.
