We are recruiting for a Receptionist who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
The Lister Macmillan Cancer Service is looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and reliable receptionist, to work as part of a dedicated and friendly receptionist team.

Main duties of the job
To ensure that all of our patients are welcomed into the Cancer Centre and checked in for their appointment.
To deal with any queries from patients or staff that come in by phone or email, and to ensure that all patient appointments are made as required.
To provide comprehensive support to the Reception team.
A close working relationship with team members is essential.
Candidates will need to have good organisational skills, be able to interact with people at all levels and excellent attendance record is also essential.

Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Good level of computer literacy
- Experience of healthcare databases, the Internet, library management systems
- Knowledge of relevant legislation – copyright, data protection and Freedom of Information
Experience

- Relevant previous experience
- Experience of Lorenzo or any other PAS system
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
Skills

- Well-developed interpersonal skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to work without close supervision
- Ability to work in a busy & pressurised environment
- Confidence, tact and diplomacy
Desirable criteria
- Experience of coordinating tasks

- Evidence of experience in a reception environment
- Experience in dealing with the general public queries in a courteous manner

Applicant requirements
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
