We are recruiting for a Safeguarding Administrator who share our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, dynamic, highly motivated, hardworking individual to join our friendly and dedicated safeguarding team.
The job role is varied and requires individuals who can adapt well, manage all duties effectively and be able to work in a fast-paced environment. The post holder must have a keen attention to detail in handling sensitive & highly confidential information.
General duties include comprehensive administration to the internal safeguarding team.

Main duties of the job
The Post holder will provide an efficient, flexible and confidential administrative service to the safeguarding team; this includes predominantly administrative support for the maternity safeguarding team.
To provide a comprehensive administrative service to the safeguarding team ensuring telephone calls, correspondence and direct contact with clients and other internal/external agencies are dealt with in an appropriate and professional manner, using judgement and discretion where necessary.
Ensure all urgent and/or confidential communications are received and distributed from/to relevant parties in a relevant manner.
To provide the first point of reference for the midwifery service to the safeguarding team.
To be responsible for the management of shared email inboxes, dissemination of child protection meetings and minuting of the maternity safeguarding meeting.
To support with dissemination of information to GP & Community Services and partner agencies.
The post holder may be dealing with distressing or emotional circumstances and will therefore use their initiative, diplomacy and tact and take a proactive approach to solving problems and escalating issues as appropriate.
Take the initiative to contact and consult with the safeguarding team as appropriate when they are not in the office as this a post that requires unsupervised working and exercise of judgement in seeking assistance.

Qualifications / Training
Essential criteria
- RSA 3 or equivalent.
- Degree in Admin or equivalent, or equivalent experience.
Desirable criteria
- Evidence of continuing development
Previous Experience

- Secretary/PA and administrator within NHS or Health-care setting
- Handling telephone enquiries
- Ability to spot Safeguarding concerns
- Knowledge of Safeguarding categories Experience of computer data entry
