Job overview
We are recruiting for a Pharmacist Team Manager Unplanned Care who share our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
It is an energising time for us at the Trust, having just acquired Teaching status and working with VMI on our ENH Production System. The pharmacy department is working side by side with senior clinical and operational leads to improve our discharge processes and this post holder will be at the forefront of all the exciting development and will support implementation and change.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will direct the day-to-day functioning of the clinical pharmacy service to unplanned care, whilst as the same time work closely with the Pharmacist Manager – Planned Care (Surgery) to ensure the service is able to respond effectively to meet the needs of patients and key Trust stakeholders. A significant proportion of the role will involve strategic development of the unplanned care clinical pharmacy service, working with Pharmacist Manager – Clinical Services, senior nursing and clinical colleagues.
To act as the lead pharmacist for a defined area / directorate / aspect of pharmacy (in addition to above).
To plan, manage and develop the clinical pharmacy service to the unplanned care division in order to promote the safe, timely and cost-effective use of medicines.
To work with the Pharmacist Team Manager for Planned Care and support the Pharmacist Manager – Clinical Services & Digital Transformation and Deputy Chief Pharmacist to ensure robust clinical services are provided daily.
To act as Head of Department as required.
To line manage relevant directorate pharmacists within the unplanned division.
To be a Pharmacist Independent Prescriber within the Trust working in accordance with Trust Policy as approved by Therapeutics Policy Committee (TPC).
To carry out general dispensing and associated clinical and pharmaceutical duties and to assist with the provision of the pharmaceutical service to the trust.
