Job overview

We are recruiting for a Pharmacy Support Worker who share our vision to be trusted to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.

Applicants must be keen to learn, hardworking and able to work under pressure.

A flexible approach to the above duties is required, together with good communication and interpersonal skills, initiative and the ability to work as part of a team.

You will have to undertake NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services.

Main duties of the job

Duties include dispensing and labelling prescriptions for patients, working in the dispensary serving patients and staff on pharmacy reception and general dispensary administration.

The successful candidate will book in prescriptions and monitor the flow of work.

You will need to monitor room temperature in the dispensary, CD room and trial room.

The post holder will be responsible for checking dispensed items in the delivery boxes.

You will be required to sort returned drugs, separating items to be credited and those to be discarded, according to procedure.

You will also be trained to label and dispense medicinal products in accordance with procedure.

  • Able to undertake NVQ Level 2 and complete in 2 years
