Job overview

Applications are invited for a Senior Clinical Fellow in Plastic Surgery. This is a fixed term appointment is based at Lister Hospital in Stevenage. The post is full time and the post holder will be expected to participate on the middle grade rota.

This is an excellent opportunity within the Plastic Surgery department at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust. The appointee will join the Plastic Surgery team, working between 11 Plastic Surgery consultants. The on-call rota is non-resident on-call. Opportunities will be available for the appointee to develop skills in a number of subspecialist areas in Plastic Surgery.
Although near London, Welwyn Garden City and Stevenage are in rural settings and well served by rail and road. There is a wide choice of housing, good schools and excellent leisure facilities.

The post holder will be encouraged to participate in audits, presentations, and teachings. Although, this post is not recognised for training the appointee will be encouraged in their training and development within the role.

Main duties of the job

•    Initiation of the necessary investigation of patients and the referral to the relevant on-call specialist team when indicated.

•    Seeing Patients in our Plastic Dressing Clinic
•    Operating with consultants on both elective and Trauma patients
•    Seeing patients both on the ward and in outpatient settings
•    Independently carrying out Minor operation list 
•    Part of a 1-8 on call

Qualifications / Training

  • Hold a current licence to practice from the General Medical Council
  • MBBS or equivalent
