Job overview

We are recruiting for a Registered Nurse within Ward 8A -Gastroenterology/Hepatology Ward (Fixed Term) who shares our vision to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.

This is a vital and valued role within the health team.  Based on Ward 8A-Gastroenterology/Hepatology, you work collaboratively and cooperatively with the rest of the health team to ensure delivery of high-quality and compassionate care to patients and their families/carers.

Ward 8A is a twenty nine bedded mixed gastroenterology ward with one side room which is a procedure room for abdominal drains.

As a Registered Nurse, you will participate to provide a high standard of research-based care, support the team of staff working in the area to deliver quality service which is linked to high standards of patient care and support the other members of the nursing team in their training and development.

Main duties of the job

Assess, plan, implement and evaluate the care needs of patients from ward admission to discharge, with the involvement of patients and their relatives/carers.

To ensure a high standard of nursing care is performed at all times and assists in the review and regular update of these standard in accordance with the NMC code of professional conduct and trust polices.

Participate within a team of nurse and support workers in providing continuity of patient care, patients physical, social and psychological needs are met.

Participate in internal shift rotation in order to provide 24-hour patient care.

Communicate effectively and work in partnership with patients, nursing collages, the Multidisciplinary Team and all other relevant personnel.

Qualifications/Training

  • Registered Nurse on part 1, part 2 or part 12 of the NMC register
  • Commitment to lifelong learning
  • Evidence of further education, training and on-going learning

  • Evidence of Assessing and Mentorship qualification
  • Evidence of appropriate Specialist Qualification

Skills
