Senior Contracts Manager

Non NHS Banding

Job overview

HUC is seeking a highly skilled contracting professional, whether you are an established Senior Contracts Manager or an ambitious Contract Manager ready to step into a senior role, who is motivated to lead a high performing contracting function.

In this pivotal role, you will take ownership of the end to end management of a varied portfolio of NHS urgent and healthcare services across our region, ensuring high quality, value and delivery for our patients and partners.
Alongside your core responsibilities, you will demonstrate strong commercial and organisational leadership by overseeing the review of estates and supplier agreements, ensuring robust performance, regulatory compliance and value for money.

Your ability to inspire collaboration and build effective relationships will be critical as you work closely with internal teams, Integrated Care Boards, NHS England, providers and suppliers to strengthen performance monitoring, champion service improvement and shape effective contract governance.

Main duties of the job

•    Lead the end-to-end management of a defined contract portfolio
•    Negotiate, review and manage contractual variations and renewals
•    Monitor performance, KPIs, activity plans and compliance with statutory requirements
•    Analyse complex performance and financial data to support decision making and improvement
•    Represent HUC at contract meetings, performance reviews and national/local forums
•    Provide expert advice on contractual risk, dispute resolution and policy changes
•    Support procurement, service development, mobilisation and governance processes
•    Maintain robust documentation and audit trails
•    Line-manage, mentor and develop team members
•    Deputise for the Head of Contracts when required
