Main duties of the job
Job summary
To work alongside all service users and ensure that approved documented cleaning standards and frequencies are maintained at all times. Being prepared to work in any area across the Trust site.
To act as soon as possible in response to any request for Barrier Cleans.
To carry out Hydrogen Peroxide Vapour and Ultra Violet Light in the C Spectrum decontaminations on request (following approved training)
Completion of all relevant documentation.
Responsible for ensuring cleaning equipment and materials are properly used and kept spotlessly clean at all times. Report to Cleanliness Supervisor any cleaning equipment problems.
Liaison with Cleanliness Supervisors regarding cleaning equipment and cleanliness stock levels, to ensure sufficient cleaning materials are always available, check dates on items.
Any other duties and responsibilities determined by the Operational Cleaning Manager, within the parameters of the post.

Specific Core Functions
• Completion of relevant documentation, for example forms on completion of each barrier clean, HPV or UVC decontamination.
• Working alongside all service users, some of whom will be vulnerable and in very poor health and liaising with various levels of staff in a busy environment.
• Participate in team department meetings.
• Observe complete confidentiality of all information including awareness and adherence to the legal requirements of the Data Protection Act.
• Compliance with all COSHH instructions.
• Carry out HPV/UVC decontaminations following approved training and to handbook instructions as provided.
Person specification
GSCE Maths & English
Essential criteria
- Level 4 or above
Desirable criteria
- Experience of Cleaning in a clinical setting or other environments
Applicant requirements
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
