Ambulance Business Support Officer 

Permanent position

We are looking for an organised and confident Business Support Officer to join the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service. You will provide essential administrative and business support to the Ambulance Business Manager and wider leadership team, helping to ensure the smooth running of operational services 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday during normal office hours.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The post holder is responsible for resourcing administration function within the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service and supporting the service managers through effective delivery of Admin and rostering systems

Key elements of the role are

Provide administrative and business support across the Ambulance Service.

Manage procurement processes, including ordering, invoicing and checking financial information.

Coordinate key divisional meetings including agendas, invites, minutes and documents.

Collate and analyse data to produce reports for audit, performance and service improvement.

Maintain departmental intranet pages, ensuring policies and documents are current.

Liaise with external GP surgeries and internal teams regarding confidential patient information and transport documentation.

Support stock control, travel bookings and equipment ordering.

Essential criteria
  • • 5 GCSE / ‘O’ levels including English & Maths – Grade C or above
  • • Qualification in Business Administration at level 4 or level 3 with willingness to work towards level 4
  • • Competent PC skills and evidence of previous experience of using Microsoft software including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • • Experience in an administrative role
  • • Experience of co-ordinating multi-professional meetings and/or working cross agencies
  • • Knowledge of health and social care
  • • Experience in a previous supervisory role to support the development of junior staff
Desirable criteria
  • Work towards NVQ Level 4/5
