We are recruiting for a Band 4 Nurse Associate to join our dynamic and supportive ward team . In this role, you will provide care to patients in the acute ward setting, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. Working closely with a multidisciplinary team, you will manage patient medical care and individual needs on the ward.

Main duties of the job

  • Working as a registered professional, adhering to the NMC code of conduct & implementing plans of care to ensure that patient’s physical, social and psychological needs are met.
  • Act as the identified Nurse for acutely ill patients by assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating their care.
  • Act as the patients’ advocate
  • Be clinically competent in all areas of advanced practice relevant to the post
  • Work to eliminate all avoidable infection by acting as a role model in infection prevention and control prevention to all staff, visitors and patients
  • Minimise risk of harm to patients, staff and visitors by working according to risk management policies.
  • Demonstrate consistent high standard of hand hygiene practice and promote standards to staff, visitors and patients.
  • Promote patient independence as much as possible.
  • Responsible for admission and discharge procedures including the correct handling of patient’s property.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and their relatives, ensuring accurate and seamless information is conveyed and documented in line with professional and legal requirements .
  • Assist in the maintenance and monitoring of agreed standards.
  • Ensure that all quality initiatives within the Ward environment are adhered to and that the highest standards of care are maintained at all times
  • Promote and maintain effective working relationships and communications with consultants, medical staff, nurse colleagues and other multi-agency staff

Qualification & Training

Essential criteria
  • NMC Registered nursing associate
  • Delivery of evidence based practice
  • Demonstrates patient focused approach
Desirable criteria
  • Nurse Associate or Assistant Practitioner Qualification
  • Evidence of facilitating learning in practice
  • Evidence of on-going personal + professional development
  • Recent clinical experience in an acute Trust

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Patient focused approach Basic IT skills
  • Well-developed verbal & written communication skills
  • Previous care experience
  • Ability to develop working relationships with others
Desirable criteria
  • Completed medicine management, IV and venepuncture/cannulation courses.

Governance

Essential criteria
  • Understanding of patient confidentiality, governance regulations and trust’s policy surrounding this
