We are recruiting for an enthusiastic and organised Practice Development Nurses who will promote excellence in clinical practice, provide a visible presence and strong professional leadership across our community hospital teams.

You will foster an environment which values education as part of the philosophy of the practice area. Co-ordinate, facilitate and teach clinical educational activities for registered and non-registered Nursing staff within the designated practice areas to standardise and maintain a high standard of clinical competence across the workforce. To include working alongside Matrons and Operational leads to support the ongoing development of management and leadership skills across the teams at all levels.  


Working closely with operational team leads you will identify gaps in clinical skills and knowledge in defined areas. This will include proactively supporting any learning from patient safety incidents and actions from complaints to improve standards and provide evidence and assurance regarding outcomes and devise appropriate training and support to meet the identified learning and professional development across the service

You will be a clinically credible practitioner able to work autonomously and with a team, teaching and demonstrating technical clinical skills and assessing competencies within clinical practice. Working with colleagues both at their bases and across the locality.

Drawing on your own clinical expertise support others to become confident and capable practitioners.

Through educational and improved clinical practice your aim will improve the patient experience and quality of care standards across clinical areas.

You will be required to maintain and keep up to date with clinical skill, current developments in research and nursing practice utilising evidence practice and align with professional standards, trust policy and agreed competency framework.

Qualifications

  • Registered health care professional (NMC or HCPC registration) / experience in health improvement environment
  • Health related degree and evidence of relevant post graduate development at Level 6
  • Evidence of Post Graduate Specialist qualifications relevant to area of practice (examples –: non-medical prescribing; mentorship, coaching, clinical expertise)
  • Management or supervisory qualification / programme of study
Meini prawf dymunol
  • PTLLS/DTLLS, PGCE or Certificate in Education
  • Working towards Master level study

Experience

  • Experience in area of practice
  • Experience of leading and managing teams
  • Experience of developing policy and service development plans with practical experience of change management.
  • Supporting others (mentor / educator / supervisor) experience
  • Practical experience in managing health related projects/complex caseloads

  • Experience with the use of Microsoft Office and a variety of IT packages (E-Pay / E-roster/ AT-P/ CIS)

Special Knowledge and Expertise

  • Understanding of National Service Frameworks and NICE guidance to relevant to care setting and its application across health care services
  • Evidence of continued relevant professional development and implementation in practice within the last 12 months
  • Proven ability to develop effective partnerships to achieve practical outcomes across organisational boundaries including statutory organisations, external agencies, community and voluntary organisations
  • Supporting others (mentor / educator / supervisor) experience
