Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, highly motivated and enthusiastic Pharmacy Technician to join our Medicines Quality and Governance team.

You will have a strong interest in Medicines Quality and Governance background. The ideal candidate should understand regulatory compliance, controlled drugs, medicines incidents, pharmacy contracts, working with pharmaceutical industry and medicines polices. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for effective collaboration with various healthcare professionals and stakeholders. The ability to work as a team player is crucial.

In addition, you will also play an important role supporting robust oversight in the governance of prescribers (medical and non-medical)

Main duties of the job

As Pharmacy Technician - you will play a key role in delivering the specialist technical aspects of the Medicines Governance agenda across the Trust ensuring the team provides a safe, effective and efficient use of medicines.

You will support the Pharmacy non-medical prescriber lead in the governance of all prescribers ensuring compliance with legal and professional frameworks that govern prescribing by KCHFT.

As the Pharmacy Technician team manager, you will manage and lead the pharmacy technician specialist and pharmacy support workers higher level that provide medicines quality and governance.

 

Additional Working Pattern: 7.5 hours each day Monday to Friday

Qualification

Essential criteria
  • NVQ in Pharmacy Services Level 3 with BTEC in Pharmaceutical Science as underpinning knowledge or BTEC in Pharmaceutical Science or equivalent
Desirable criteria
  • Leadership Qualification or equivalent

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Delivering Medicines and Governance agenda both clinical and financial
Desirable criteria
  • Experience in performing audits and quality improvement project

Knowlwdge

Essential criteria
  • Knowledge of medicines legislation and understanding the concepts of Clinical Governance

Skills

Essential criteria
  • High developed IT skills including word processing skills, spread-sheet skills, Power Point etc
Desirable criteria
  • Ability to extract and present data from Datix and Epact
