The Children's Physiotherapy service in Bromley Healthcare are looking for enthusiastic and experienced staff to join our bank of Physiotherapy Assistants to support the work of the service.
The Physiotherapy Assistant role supports the work of our enthusiastic and innovative team working with children who have MSK problems and require individual or group interventions to support.
We are keen to hear from existing Physiotherapy Assistants or students undertaking Physiotherapy training who may be interested in relevant work during this summer. Finance depending, this could also extend on an ongoing part-time basis.

Main duties of the job
To work as part of the Paediatric Community Physiotherapy Team, supporting the delivery of musculoskeletal (MSK) physiotherapy services to children and young people in community settings.
The post holder will assist registered physiotherapists in the planning and delivery of group-based rehabilitation programmes, promoting participation in exercise, functional activities, and self-management strategies.
The role will have a particular focus on supporting the organisation and delivery of paediatric MSK group interventions.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
• Assist in the delivery of physiotherapy programmes to children and young people under the direction of a registered physiotherapist.
• Support MSK group sessions by demonstrating and supervising exercises.
• Encourage and motivate children to participate in therapeutic activities.
• Observe and report feedback on patient performance, progress, and any concerns to the supervising physiotherapist.
• Escalate concerns to qualified physiotherapists as appropriate.
• Support the implementation of treatment plans within group settings.
• Keep accurate records of provided interventions.
• Assist in planning and setting up MSK group sessions, including preparation of equipment and resources.
• Support the safe running of group exercise circuits and activities.
• Facilitate a positive, inclusive, and engaging group environment.
• Assist with adapting activities to meet individual needs under guidance.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent experience)
Desirable criteria
- Undertaking Physiotherapy qualification
Knowledge

- Experience working with children or young people
