Adult Speech & Language Therapy Assistant - Band 4

£32,199 - £34,876 Inclusive HCAS per annum pro rata 

37.5 hours per week

An opportunity has arisen to join our Adult Community Speech and Language Therapy (ASLT) team as a Band 4 Adult Speech and Language Therapy Assistant (ASLTA) in Bromley. This is being offered as a full-time (37.5 hours) position however part-time working options would be considered. 

We are a supportive and friendly team who work with adults with a range of communication and swallowing disorders. We also have specialist ASLT services such as an outpatient Fibreoptic Endoscopic Evaluation of swallowing (FEEs), voice and dysfluency. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to support provision ASLT services to adults within Bromley with a range of conditions such as Dementia, Parkinson’s Disease and/or Multiple Sclerosis. 

This post would suit a motivated person with prior experience in assistant role or someone looking to develop skills working as an ASLTA. Driving is an essential requirement of this job. You will be provided with training and supervision appropriate for the role.

Main duties of the job

Main duties of the job

·    -   To support provision of ASLT Services to residents in Bromley

·     -  Carry out therapy programmes devised by qualified Speech and Language Therapists, including therapy groups.

·    -   Working closely with patients, families and carers.

·    -  Supporting the SLTs with making communication books/charts, assisting patients with using alternative communication technology and voice banking

·   -    Support running of outpatient FEEs service

·    -   Supporting Service to meet Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), including triaging referrals

Essential criteria

  • Experience of working in an administration role
