Consultant
Job overview
The Kent Interventional Radiology Centre, a purpose-built unit at the Kent and Canterbury site, fitted with the latest Siemens Artis Pheno angiography system with robotic assistance, full anaesthetic facilities and a dedicated 6-bedded Day Case Unit opened in May 2022. The Radiology department is a large and successful department with 5 CT scanners and 5 MRI scanners with mobile MRI and CT increasing capacity further. The Trust has recently introduced two SPECT/CT units in Nuclear Medicine.
Main duties of the job
This post is for an Interventional Radiologist with specialised training in Vascular and Non-Vascular Radiology, including EVAR and peripheral intervention. There is a thriving practice in non-oncological embolotherapy including uterine artery embolization, prostate artery embolization, varicocele embolization and treatment of pelvic congestion. There is an ongoing consultation process for the centre to become the hub for a Kent wide Vascular network which would bring many opportunities to develop special clinical and research interests.
