Senior Quality Assurance Technician - Pharmacy

Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual to join our excellent, friendly and dynamic Quality Assurance and Quality Control team that support our licensed and unlicensed Pharmacy facilities including a Radiopharmacy unit, and aseptic dispensing unit, registered dispensaries, a clinical trials service and a licensed pharmacy stores and medicines procurement service.

Main duties of the job

The main duties of this role are

  1. Day to day management of the Pharmacy Quality Management system
  2. Supporting the Quality Assurance lead in promoting and facilitating the development of effective quality systems, risk assurance and compliance management across the Pharmacy department.
  3. Organising the day to day activities of the service under the direction of the Quality Assurance lead
  4. Supporting the Quality Control Officer and Quality Assurance technician in prioritisation of workload and task allocation
  5. Supporting  and delivery of Quality Assurance and Quality Control training activities
  6. Supporting internal audit activities

Essential criteria
  • Experience of quality management systems including writing and review of SoPs that form part of this
Desirable criteria
  • Previous hospital pharmacy experience in technical services

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Degree in relevant subject or relevant, demonstrable experience or Science and Manufacturing Technology level 3 Or Btec in Pharmaceutical science and NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services

  • Management qualification

  • High attention to detail

  • Good management skills

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Good understanding of the principles of GMP and the principles of QAAPS
