We are looking for an enthusiastic Preceptorship Speech and Language Therapist to work with us in East Kent. The Kent Community
Main duties of the job
The caseload is primarily neurological patients including those with Parkinson’s disease, dementia and other acquired swallowing and
We have a senior experienced SLT whose Clinical Development role is to support and develop our band 5s through their preceptorship
Our service consists of about 30 therapists and assistant practitioners. We really value our staff and they in turn value the support and
We offer excellent clinical supervision (individual and group) and hold regular in-service training days.
We encourage clinicians returning to practice and students who graduate this year to apply.

QUALIFICATIONS
Essential criteria
- Recognised Speech and Language Therapy degree qualification or equivalent (or about to qualify)
Desirable criteria
- Registered Member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT)
QUALIFICATIONS
Essential criteria
- Health and Care Professions Council licence to practice as a Speech & Language Therapist (A) (or applying once qualified)
EXPERIENCE
Essential criteria
- Experience of recent community/acute healthcare relevant to the role gained through education or work experience placement or previous employment
Desirable criteria
- Relevant voluntary or previous work experience. Dysphagia experience (RCSLT dysphagia competencies level B) or equivalent
KNOWLEDGE
Essential criteria
- Knowledge of a range of assessments and therapy techniques.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Essential criteria
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – both verbal and written – including presentation of information to others.

- Understands the limits of their own competence and demonstrates ability to act on guidance/feedback from manager or other senior clinician.
