Please note: at this stage, the role is open only to colleagues currently employed within Kent and Medway NHS Trusts, the Kent and Medway Integrated Care Board (ICB) and Medway Community Healthcare. Nursing vacancies are also open to Student Nurses and Newly Qualified Nurses.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised Specialist Doctor - Complex Neuro-disability to join our professional Community Paediatrics Team.

Main duties of the job

Person specification
Registration and qualifications
Essential criteria
- Full GMC registration, Medical Degree, MBBS or equivalent
Desirable criteria
- A post graduate qualification e.g. MRCPCH by examination, MSc, DCH, DCCH, MBA or other relevant diplomas
Experience
Essential criteria
- 7 years post qualification experience, of which a minimum of 4 years as Registrar or Staff grade, at least two of which must be in Community Paediatrics; Experience in the clinical management of children including those with neuro-developmental, emotional, behavioural and attachment difficulties, child protection, and adult health issues pertinent to parenting; Experience of working with Looked after children in particular ability to complete Initial Health Assessments independently.

Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Able to work unsupervised, with awareness of limitations; Good written and oral communication; Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively; Demonstrated ability to work with other health professionals; Experience of working with a multi-disciplinary team

- Demonstrated ability to work unsupervised and make decisions; Demonstrated ability to lead a multi-disciplinary team e.g. in project work; Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively e.g. report writing; thesis
Skills and Abilities

- Relevant clinical skills; Able to work under pressure/ meet deadlines; Communicate complex often sensitive information; IT proficient; Able to manage risk and clinically prioritise.
Desirable criteria
- Meet professional standards for GMC; Accept and learn from feedback; Committed to professional development; Capacity to remain calm under pressure
Ability to manage
Essential criteria
- Understanding of management issues including medical discipline; clinical governance, service planning; Willingness to support or lead in service developments
Desirable criteria
- Demonstrated ability to manage e.g. project work; Mentoring junior staff
