If so, come and join our innovative highly specialist Community Neurological Rehabilitation Team (CNRT). We provide high quality rehabilitation to patients in a community setting as part of  CQC rated ‘Outstanding’ Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust.

We are looking for a part time band 6 Physiotherapist to join us on a permanent contract with potential future weekend working. CNRT is a multi-disciplinary service consisting of occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, physiotherapists, dietitian, specialist nurses, rehabilitation assistants and clinical neuropsychologist with administrator support.

Main duties of the job

We see patients in clinics, at home or residential/nursing homes throughout West Kent therefore a full driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential. CNRT provide specialist neurological rehabilitation to patients with a range of neurological conditions including stroke, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, spinal cord injury and motor neuron disease.

You will be supported to develop your specialist neuro skills by regular supervision. We run a comprehensive in service training program, 1:1 supervision and group supervision sessions. The trust encourages ongoing development of its staff and our service. As a member of our team you will be well supported by the clinical lead, fellow band 6 physiotherapists and other members of the multi-disciplinary team.

Person specification

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Registered health care professional (HCPC registration)
  • Health related degree and evidence of relevant post graduate development at Level 6
Desirable criteria
  • PTLLS/DTLLS, PGCE or Certificate in Education
  • Management or supervisory qualification or experience of study.
  • Working towards Master level study

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Significant experience in area of practice.
  • Practical experience in managing health related projects/complex caseloads
  • Supporting others (mentor / educator / supervisor) experience
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of leading and managing teams.
  • Experience with the use of Microsoft Office and a variety of IT packages

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Understanding of National Service Frameworks and NICE guidance relevant to care setting. Clinical audit
  • Evidence of continued relevant professional development and implementation in practice.

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Understanding of training needs in relation to post
  • Ability to work effectively with a variety of people at all organisational levels across different sectors including areas of social deprivation
  • Ability to communicate complex, sensitive information to individuals and groups
  • Strong influencing and negotiating skills
  • Ability to independently travel between sites in a timely manner, Full drivers licence
