Job overview

We are looking for a Band 6 Specialist Podiatrist within Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust

The successful candidate will join one of the largest and forward-thinking Podiatry Departments in the Country. This role is for a highly motivated and professional HCPC registered Podiatrist to provide high quality podiatric care for patients with pathological foot conditions and those individuals at risk of developing serious foot health complications.

A comprehensive corporate induction programme is given at the commencement of employment. As well as this the Podiatry Department offers its own preceptorship package covering all aspects of peer review, clinical supervision, support and mentoring.  A Competency programmes is used for staff to ensure all work is to a high clinical standard which can lead to future opportunities for career development into a chosen specialist area which can be supported within the service.
The Department embraces the use of new ways of working using virtual consultations, Wound Matrix and Rio for clinical documentation.
The service is delivered in Community Clinics, Health Centres, GP surgeries, Acute and Community Hospital Sites, Prisons and patient’s own home. All staff are given the opportunity to get involved in a wide variety and scope of practice. Main duties of the job

This role is for a highly motivated and professional HCPC registered Podiatrist with graduate clinic experience to provide high-quality Podiatrist care for patients with pathological foot conditions and those at risk of developing serious foot health complications. The post holder is required to have excellent diagnostic and clinical skills to deliver a range of Podiatry treatments, including Biomechanical interventions and wound care for patients in Kent,

The Clinician will effectively record all interventions and offer support, advice and guidance to Band 5 Podiatrists, Podiatry Assistants, Foot Health Practitioners, students and administration staff wherever they are working. The post holder must work effectively as part of the Podiatry team/department and always use good communication skills.

This role will continue to develop the clinician with further qualities required for treatment planning assessment, diagnosis, implementation and evaluation of Podiatric care to a variety patient with more complex needs.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Experience in Podiatry and evidence of Podiatry rotations
Desirable criteria
  • Experience with the use of Microsoft Office and a variety of IT packages (E-Pay / E-roster/ RIO)

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Understanding of training needs in relation to post
  • Ability to manage time effectively, priorities and work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work effectively with a variety of people at all organisational levels across different sectors including areas of social deprivation
  • Ability to communicate complex, sensitive information to individuals and groups
  • Full UK Driving Licence and use of a car
