Are you motivated, enthusiastic and looking for a challenge?

Would you like the opportunity to join our friendly, supportive and dynamic team in our Emergency Department? You would be working alongside clinical staff, ward clerks and receptionists to assist in the smooth running of the busy department. You will also be expected to undertake other administrative duties such as registering patients, making appointments, booking transport, filing, retrieving and archiving old notes, and answering calls both internally and externally.

The department can offer you support and on-going professional development.

Working days/nights/weekends/Bank Holidays and/or shift patterns will be agreed by the line manager to meet the needs of the service.  

Main duties of the job

We are looking for someone willing to be trained to a high standard, with excellent communication skills and ideally with customer care experience. You should have the ability to work independently and as part of the team, depending on the needs of the situation.

You should be able to work under pressure effectively as this is an extremely busy department and be able to deal with vulnerable and anxious clients. You will be expected to work shifts including nights and also bank holiday and weekends.

You should have a good working knowledge of computers and be able to manage your own time and prioritise your workload.
