We are looking for an enthusiastic and adaptable Sexual health nurse to join our caring and progressive team in Eastbourne.

Main duties of the job

Our team delivers high-quality evidence-based care to people to support their sexual health needs.

You’ll be part of an enthusiastic and passionate team dedicated to keeping people in Kent and Medway safe and well, now and in later life, by providing contraception, treatment for sexually-transmitted infections, and advice and support to maintain healthy relationships.  

You’ll provide sound clinical judgement and leadership to support our team to safely deliver patient-centred care, and consistently monitor quality and progress in a challenging but rewarding environment.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Nursing or midwifery qualification and registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council
Desirable criteria
  • STIF Intermediate

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Evidence of Specialist qualifications relevant to area of practice or willing to work towards a Sexual health qualification
Desirable criteria
  • DFSRH

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience in working within a sexual health service or infectious disease service or acute medical experience or other relevant discipline.
Desirable criteria
  • Experience with the use of Microsoft Office and a variety of IT packages (E-Pay / E-roster/ TAPs/ CIS)

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Practical experience in managing health related projects/ complex caseloads
Desirable criteria
  • Understand and experience of partner notification for all sexually transmitted infections including HIV.

  • Ability to communicate complex, sensitive information to individuals and groups
