Job overview

Please note, at this stage, the role is open only to internal staff (including NHSP and Agency staff currently on placement within our organisation) and staff substantively employed within Kent and Medway NHS Trusts and the Kent and Medway Integrated Care Board (ICB). Any individual who is at risk of redundancy will be given priority, provided they meet the essential criteria.

Are you a qualified or soon-to-be qualified CBT Psychotherapist looking for a new challenge in a supportive work environment?

We are looking for a CBT Psychotherapist to join our Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIPS) service, based in Medway.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the team as it continues to offer evidence-based interventions. In this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality CBT and family interventions to people aged 14+ with a first episode of psychosis.

You will also be involved in case consultation and collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team (MDT).

As a CBT Psychotherapist with Kent and Medway Mental Health NHS Trust, you will have plenty of support and opportunities to develop your own practice, whilst providing excellent care to people with psychosis and their families.

You must hold a postgraduate Qualification in CBT, BABCP registration and have experience working with people with mental health problems. We welcome your application if you are awaiting your registration and are keen to develop your skills and further training in psychosis.

Main duties of the job

  • Provide CBT and other psychological interventions (e.g., substance misuse and family interventions) to people with a first episode of psychosis.
  • Conduct high-quality assessments and deliver evidence-based interventions.
  • Collaborate effectively with the MDT to strengthen the team's therapeutic capacity.
  • Contribute to service development and participate in research and evaluation activities.

The Service

The Early Intervention for Psychosis Service is a well-respected and well-established multi-disciplinary service with a reputation for excellence. The EIP psychological therapies staff are integrated within EIPS and committed to providing support, excellent supervision and to developing its staff.

Working for our organisation

We are the Kent and Medway Mental Health NHS Trust. We care for the mental health and wellbeing of people across Kent and Medway. Our teams support adults with a wide range of mental health needs. Because we cover the whole county and both hospital and community settings, we can make care more joined up and easier to access for the 1.8 million people of Kent and Medway. Rated ‘Good’ by the CQC, we care for over 2,000 people in our hospitals and 54,000 in the community each year.

Our vision is simple: We are here to help communities not just live with mental illness, but live well. It’s why we’re passionate about working with communities to make mental health care better for everyone. And everything we do is guided by our values caring, inclusive, curious and confident.

Join us - if you share our passion for better mental health care and want to be part of a team that's doing well together.
