Specialise in rhythm management providing full technical analysis and interpretation of results for medical staff, contributing to the diagnosis and treatment of patients. Participate in specialist complex devices clinics. There maybe a requirement to rotate through the Community Diagnostic Centres at Rochester Healthy Living Centre and Sheppey Community Hospital as well as the acute site.

Specialise in complex rhythm management providing full technical analysis and interpretation of results for medical staff, contributing to the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
Device specialists will manage and run complex device and pacemaker clinics, identifying patients who require cardiologist review. Adapt programmes, in accordance with the guidelines of the British Pacing and Electrophysiology Group, and without medical supervision, making complex judgements to ensure that any patient who is unwell is assessed, diagnosed and referred as required.
Undertake all basic investigations to diagnose heart disease, and produce factual reports as required.
Make judgements on the severity of results, ensuring medical staff are informed immediately of any life threatening or urgent investigation results.

Undertake the range of highly complex investigations and produce full technical analysis and interpretation of results.
Ensure that all the correct procedures for dealing with urgent and non-urgent results are adhered to, supporting the junior staff at all times.
Participate and/or take the lead as a member of the resuscitation team if required when an emergency occurs in the department.
Complete trial evidence in accordance with trial protocols.
Performance and Review.
Responsible for the writing own reports of investigations on the department database.
Supervise and oversee the writing of reports of more junior staff
Make appointments for investigations as required.
Participate in individual performance review
Attend regular Echo meetings and assist with the organisation of these.
Service Planning
Assist with the implementation of new services as required
Take part in the implementation of any research based policies as required.
Clinical Governance/Quality
Support the achievement of quality projects
Participate in Echo audits and feedback results to Physiologists and Cardiologists
Participate in training of students and more junior staff in all aspects of the work of the department.

Qualifications

- BSc Clinical Physiology or equivalent
- BSE accreditation is essential
- RCCP or equivalent
- ILS
- ASCST
Knowledge

- Able to use all internal IT systems
Experience
