Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The post-holder will work in a large and diverse multidisciplinary team providing best inpatient care for medical patients.
The post holder must promote safe and effective handover of patient care in line with Trust Governance.
The post holder will be required to actively participate in clinical audit and implement its results and relate these to the Trust and Directorate policies on Clinical Governance.
The post holders will be responsible for day to day running of the wards under supervision of a consultant . They are expected to be able to independently see patients, formulate appropriate management plans and liase with the consultant, if needed, as well. They would ideally be independent in performing procedures. They would be expected to liase with different specialties and supervise and teach juniors. The postholder will participate in GIM on call rota at registrar level in 1in 9 frequency.

Essential criteria
- Primary Medical Degree
- Full Registration with GMC
- MRCP
- Valid ALS certification
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Experience in a range of medical specialities
- Experience of managing patients on unselected take during foundation or core medical training or equivalent
- Experience of core medical practical procedures
Experience
Essential criteria
- Minimum of three year’s full time hospital service in CT-equivalent or higher grades in Acute or General Internal Medicine.
- Experience in teaching
- Experience in clinical research
- Experience with simulation training
- Management of common medical emergencies
