Neurologist Consultant

Specialist Medicine

Consultant

£105,504 - £139,882 Per annum/pro rata

We are recruiting for a Neurologist Consultant who shares our ambition and vision to deliver the Best of Care by the Best People and has the drive to take us forward, by ensuring that the Trust continues to be the first choice for patients and our staff.

Main duties of the job

This post represents an exciting opportunity for an individual to join the neurology team and help develop it further. The Neurology Department is part of the Frailty, Neurology & Rheumatology Care Group within the Emergency & Medicine Division.

The Neurology Department at Medway NHS Foundation Trust seeks to recruit a substantive Consultant Neurologist. This is an exciting opportunity for the  successful applicant to help develop our service. We can offer you a chance to develop and further your career. Sub-speciality interest in Movement Disorders or Headache would be desirable. You will be joining a Team of  three  Consultant Neurologists, two Parkinson’s disease Nurse Specialists and one Multiple Sclerosis Nurse Specialist  delivering both  inpatient (ward referrals)  and outpatient service, including Multiple Sclerosis and Epilepsy specialist clinics. The Neurology Department is based at Medway Maritime Hospital. We collaborate closely with the Tertiary service team at King’s College Hospital. The post holder is expected to participate to Neuro-Radiology MDTs and Academic Meeting once a week.

Our consultants maintain their CME by attending meetings at KCH, principally on a Friday. The existing neurologists will rotate their CME sessions to ensure that there is an opportunity to attend KCH on a Friday and to ensure there is adequate cover on Fridays at MMH.
