Job overview

Do you have technical skills and experience working with hand tools, light engineering equipment and materials?  If so, we would like to hear from you.

We are a specialist service covering the whole of Kent, Medway and Bromley. *Please note: The Prosthetic Service is currently in the process of transferring to a different provider.

Our established facility offers a fully integrated service for our users and we pride ourselves on offering high-quality equipment and support.

You will work closely with the Lead Prosthetic and Clinical Support Technician and Lead Specialist Equipment Co-ordinator to provide and maintain a professional, enthusiastic and positive approach, ensuring continual professional development by way of Appraisal (IR), Continual Professional Development (CPD), training and regular 1-2-1 sessions.

Main duties of the job

You will be providing technical skills and support to ensure the highest quality prosthetic equipment is delivered to patients, through close liaison with the Consultant and his multi-disciplinary team.

Once experienced, you will undertake a mechanical repair service with patients, with access to clinical support.

You will be using tooling and machinery to understand the concepts of all common types of prosthetic hardware devices, their construction and assembly, including their function, limitations, maintenance and repair procedures, in accordance with manufacturer technical specifications.

And fabricating all types of prosthetic sockets to the manufacturer's technical specifications.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

You will be working with the technical team and be offering technical skills to manufacture, repair and maintain prosthetic equipment, both within the workshop and in time, within patient-facing technical clinics.
