We are looking for an enthusiastic and adaptable Admin Team Leader to join our professional team in Gravesham.

Main duties of the job

Could you use your skills and experience to support the NHS to deliver great patient care? Great patient care needs great people to support clinical teams. That’s where you come in.

We put patients first and we expect all of our colleagues to do the same, so although NHS experience isn’t a requirement for this role you’ll need to share our passion for delivering excellent patient care and keep that passion at the forefront of your professional activity at all times.

The challenges come thick and fast in this role but you’ll know that your input is contributing to the excellent experience our patients and service users have every day.

 

Working for our organisation

Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust is due to integrate with Medway Community Healthcare on 1 October 2026. Following integration and to align our community services to the new Neighbourhood Model of care delivery, there will be a period of consultation which may result in changes affecting some services, teams or roles. Person specification

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Level 4 qualification (e.g. certificate of higher education, higher national certificate, NVQ level 4) or equivalent demonstrable experience
Desirable criteria
  • NVQ Level 3 Team Leader or Supervisor or other leadership/management qualification

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Practical application of HR practices, policies and procedures
  • Experience of handling confidential and sensitive information
  • Leading teams in busy and pressurised environments
Desirable criteria
  • NHS administrative experience
  • Experience of working with members of the public
  • Basic experience of a financial system i.e. Agresso

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office packages e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint
  • Design and development of standard and bespoke data reports
  • In depth knowledge of the service, site and users
Desirable criteria
  • Understanding of health and social care sector, including working knowledge of NHS structures, policies and processes

Skills & abilities

Essential criteria
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate and work effectively with a wide range of people from different backgrounds at all levels of seniority
  • Excellent attention to detail, accuracy and organisational skills
Desirable criteria
  • Ability to record accurate minutes of meetings and present to a high standard
  • Ability to concentrate and focus on diverse tasks whilst dealing with frequent interruptions
