Job overview

We are looking for an expert in Heart Failure, with linked skills in cardiac MRI or complex device implantation. Expertise in complementary areas such as Advanced Echocardiography, Inherited Cardiac Conditions, Maternal and Congenital Heart Disease or Cardio-oncology would be considered. This is a permanent appointment to a vacant position within a team of 18 full time consultants working across the organisation.

 

Main duties of the job

The Heart Failure service works closely with Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust to deliver comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services across the region. This is a permanent appointment to a vacant position within a team of 18 full time consultants working across the organisation.

Qualifications & Training

Essential criteria
  • Full GMC Registration
Desirable criteria
  • GMC Specialist Registration or will obtain within 6 months of interview date
  • Research qualification or other post graduate degree

Skills and Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Interventional Cardiology experience satisfying BCIS recommendations.
  • Working NHS experience
  • Experience in all aspects of clinical cardiology and emergency
Desirable criteria
  • Experience in complex coronary

Clinical Governance, Personal/Professional Attributes & Other Requirements

Essential criteria
  • Experience of Audit
  • Understanding of clinical incident reporting & risk management
  • Evidence of participation in annual appraisal
  • Upholds and models the Trust values
  • Adheres to the GMC code of conduct
  • Can demonstrate the ability and willingness to travel across sites effectively
  • Reside within an hour of all sites when on call
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of service improvement
  • Previous involvement in education & training
  • Interest in research & development
