Calling all Community Psychiatric Nurses & Occupational Therapists, why not kick start your career in Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust, working in our friendly Maidstone Mental Health Together Team located in Maidstone.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic 3 Band 6 Community Psychiatric Nurses and an Occupational Therapist to contribute to the development of mental health services. The post is suitable for registered Nurses and Occupational Therapists, with at least 2 years post qualification experience.

You will need to have demonstrated skills and expertise in carrying out a variety of assessments and be able to plan and execute interventions, with individuals, their carer’s and groups. You will need to be clinically confident and competent in working with individuals in a community setting and be able to work effectively in a multi-professional context. You should have collaborative and enthusiastic styles as well as have a passion and commitment to develop and promote mental health services.

The post holder must hold a full, valid, UK driving licence and have access to a car/vehicle to use for business purposes (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010).

Main duties of the job

To ensure assessment of service users and analyse and interpret information gained to form an accurate formulation of risk and need. 

To work collaboratively with service users, staff, and carers to identify goals to determine and deliver an appropriate intervention/recovery plan which maximises engagement and performance whilst balancing risk, and promoting choice and independence. 

To monitor, evaluate and modify therapeutic interventions to measure progress and increase efficacy for the best possible service user outcomes and experience.

To act as an experienced clinician supporting best practice in line with NICE guidance and professional standards.

To demonstrate clinical leadership skills through the management of dedicated projects and approved quality improvement initiatives.

  • Competent in carrying out full mental health assessments of clients
  • Minimum of 2 years post qualification
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of collaborative working within a multi-disciplinary team
  • Competent in risk assessment of clients and referral processes
  • Experience in referral screening/triaging

Essential Requirement
