Job overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and committed pharmacist to help improve antimicrobial stewardship practice across the Trust.

Working as part of not only the pharmacy team but with the Trust’s Infection Prevention and Control team, you will be integral in helping the Trust reduce the rise in antimicrobial resistance, support the proper and appropriate use of antimicrobials and improving the culture around the treatment and management of infections across the Trust.

This is an exciting role that will also allow the post holder to network and represent the Trust in relation to the management of antimicrobials across the Integrated Care System.

The post holder will require a postgraduate qualification in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent specialist knowledge, acquired through a broad spectrum of clinical pharmacy training and experience, and will be a part of a pharmacist On-Call service.

Main duties of the job

  • You will be working closely with the Infection Prevention and Control and Physical Health Matron to identify service gaps and areas for improvement in relation to antimicrobial stewardship.
  •  You will be responsible for the governance and management of the use of antimicrobials across the Trust.
  • You will also be involved in working with the other lead pharmacists in undertaking and developing audits and projects related to the use of antimicrobials to evaluate and improve their use alongside pharmacy and Trust priorities and objectives.

The post holder must hold a full, valid, UK driving licence and have access to a car/vehicle to use for business purposes (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010).
