Job overview
A full-time vacancy has arisen in the busy Audiology Department for a well-motivated and flexible team player who is polite to assist in providing a hearing service.
Main duties of the job
You will be required to explain how hearing aids work, repair hearing aids, adjust settings to patient satisfaction, take impressions for hearing aid moulds with the appropriate supervision and on-site training to ensure patient safety at all times, ordering/receiving stock, organisation of audiology rooms, receiving and sending out ear moulds, administration tasks and any other tasks to help support the service.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Good standard of education, including GCSE in Maths and Science (or equivalent)
- Basic knowledge of physiology
Desirable criteria
- Otoscopy taking course.
- Evidence of training with hearing aid companies.
Experience/Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Experience within an Audiology Service or equivalent healthcare profession/customer care.
- Experience of a patient/customer management systems
- Knowledge of requirements of confidentiality and Data Protection Act.
Desirable criteria
- Team player and also works under own initiative
- Knowledge of phonak hearing aids.
- Deaf Awareness Trained
- Sign language
Skills
Essential criteria
- The ability to demonstrate good organisational skills prioritising skills for own work-load and others
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate both verbally and in writing
- Ability to prioritise and work at strict deadlines
Desirable criteria
- Commitment to CPD
- Background in Healthcare
