Main Pharmacy – Maidstone Hospital

We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time senior pharmacy assistant receptionist to join our team in our main pharmacy at Maidstone Hospital.

We are looking for someone who is motivated, enthusiastic and who can understand our patients’ needs to deliver an excellent Pharmacy service at our Pharmacy reception.

You will work closely with our other Senior Pharmacy Assistant Receptionist to welcome patients and staff at our busy Pharmacy reception. Your role will be essential to provide excellent customer care to all our patients, relatives, and hospital staff.

Main duties of the job

The main aspects of the role include welcoming patients, receiving and booking in prescriptions, and communicating with patients, relatives, and staff. You will be an essential member of our dispensary team in ensuring our patients’ needs are met promptly. Part of the role will also include some dispensing and preparation of medication. The role also includes monitoring the pharmacy email and contacting patients to collect medication or arrange couriers.

Essential criteria
  • GCSE Grade C or above in English and Maths or equivalent
Desirable criteria
  • NVQ customer services NVQ level 2 in pharmacy services or equivalent

Experience/Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Experience of dealing with members of the public in a service capacity
  • Experience of working with computers
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working in a hospital or other healthcare environment
  • Experience of working in pharmacy
  • Knowledge of prescription charges and exemptions

Skills
