Consultant Breast Radiologist

Consultant

Job overview

We are looking to invite a new Radiologist to join our team of  Breast Radiologists and Oncoplastic Breast Surgeons, Advanced practitioners, Nurses and Mammmographers.

Our busy breast unit at Maidstone Hospital treats  in excess of 700 breast cancers per annum, employs cutting edge techniques and has state of the art equipment - including VAE, prone table stereotactic and tomosynthesis guided biopsies, contrast enhanced mammography, microbubble ultrasound and radiofrequency markers.

We are a regional breast screening site and actively participate in Breast Radiology / Oncology research. The Trusts research programme is led by a Consultant Radiographer.

We are an exciting and ambitious unit with lots of opportunity for research, teaching and leadership roles

Main duties of the job

Successful candidates must have a particular interest in Breast Radiology, both symptomatic and screening and be able to demonstrate ability in cross sectional breast imaging including CT, MRI, as well as extended ultrasound techniques.

The new candidate would share in the existing workload and support colleagues within the Breast Care team covering symptomatic and screening work. The post will be based primarily on the Maidstone Hospital site and will have duties for consultant provision of diagnostic imaging services within the Peggy Wood Breast Care Unit. There is a likely requirement to occasionally cover the service at The Tunbridge Wells Hospital at Pembury.

The post requires a commitment to our main weekly Breast MDT. Candidates would also be encouraged to take part in our dedicated Metastatic Breast MDT which is held weekly with the Oncologists.
