Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and enthusiastic Shoulder and Elbow Surgeon to join the expanding Trauma and Orthopaedic Service at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells Hospital.
Main duties of the job
The post is for shoulder and elbow surgery. There will be an expectation to perform elective and trauma surgery, and provide specialist expertise in hip and knee trauma. Fracture and elective clinics are held in Tunbridge Wells, Maidstone and peripheral hospitals. Day surgery lists and inpatient elective lists occur in Maidstone, and trauma lists at Tunbridge Wells.
There is an expectation that the successful candidate will join the existing on call rota.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- MB BS (or equivalent)
- Registered with GMC
- Completion of a post-CCT Shoulder and Elbow Fellowship
- Possession of CCT / CESR
Desirable criteria
- Distinctions, scholarships, prizes
- Other degrees, e.g. BSc, MSc MD
Experience/Knowledge
Essential criteria
- An understanding of general principles, scientific method and interpretation of literature
