An exciting opportunity to join our Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) team at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells Hospitals.
Successful candidates will join a team of enthusiastic trainee and qualified ACP's within the General Surgery Directorate. The post holder will work on the managerial rota, and work in the Surgical Assessment Unit (SAU), including Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) and Emergency Departments (ED).

Main duties of the job
The post holder will be an experienced Nurse, Paramedic or AHP who will demonstrate a high level of expertise within the specialist service providing advice, education and support to staff, patients, their families and carers whilst they uphold the trust values.
The post holder, once trained, will be practising autonomously as an advanced clinical practitioner (ACP) within General Surgery to provide patient-centred clinical care across several wards. . Their scope will encompass the skills of advanced clinical assessment, physical examination, diagnosis and treatment within an agreed scope of practice throughout the directorate. The post holder will work towards keeping proficient in a set of core skills, defined by the Advanced Practice Assurance Group (APAG), which will allow them, if appropriate and deemed necessary, to be proposed to assist or be deployed to other clinical areas in a similar capacity, in order to ensure patient safety is maintained.

All successful applicants will be required to complete our corporate trust induction once a start date had been agreed.
Following your corporate induction you will be expected to attend the Trust’s 2-week Induction Programme for RNs, NAs, RMs, ODPs and Paramedics. The programme is full-time (please email [email protected] if this is problematic) and will involve travel to both Trust sites. The programme includes supernumerary shifts in the clinical area, classroom-based sessions and e-learning.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Degree educated to relevant post (scientific level 6 qualification) with associated professional registration
- Post Graduate Qualification in acute/critical care practice/ related discipline
- Willingness to complete an accredited MSc programme in advanced clinical practice (preferred route) or, if the applicant already holds an MSc in their area of expertise, through an equivalence portfolio route recognised by the HEE
- Basic life support
- Level 7 qualifications namely recognised MSc in ACP or MSc in their area of expertise, plus ACP credentialing through equivalence portfolio route recognised by the HEE
- Non-Medical Prescribing Course (If applicable to profession)
- Immediate Life Support qualification

- Completion of HEE framework

Experience/ Knowledge
