CAU Booking Clerk - General Surgery - Kent & Medway ICS
Band 3
Job overview
Please note this role is currently only being advertised to staff members who are currently working within the Kent and Medway ICS.
We are looking for a General Surgery Booking Clerk on a permanent contract.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience within our CAU Booking team. Booking outpatient appointments, managing waiting lists and helping with patient queries as part of a busy department based in a large Acute Hospital Trust.
The General Surgery service hours are 8.00am - 6.00pm Monday - Friday, therefore your working pattern will be between these hours.
You will be working closely with other team members, medical secretaries, clinicians and management team to ensure patients are managed appropriately.
Main duties of the job
You will need to have excellent customer care skills; extensive training will be provided to gain a thorough understanding of the trusts access policy and the 18-week RTT pathway guideline.
Previous healthcare administration would be an advantage but not essential for the advertised role as training will be given. Knowledge of using Microsoft Word and Excel would be preferable. Our General Surgery team will offer you a supportive, friendly working environment where you will gain experience of an NHS administration format.
