Neonatal Consultant

NHS Medical & Dental: Consultant

Job overview

We are keen to appoint an enthusiastic substantive Neonatal consultant to join the team at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust .

This is new position in the Department of Paediatrics at Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust, which provides a clinical service at both Tunbridge Wells Hospital at Pembury(TWH) and Maidstone Hospital.

This is a new NNU consultant post to compliment the existing 6 consultants on call rota for NNU. This post has been created in line with the recent BAPM(British association of perinatal medicine) guideline and will make us compliant with provision of 1 in 7 NNU consultant on calls.

This post provides the experience of working at Consultant level doing Consultant of the week in level 2 NNU in 1:7 rota. Consultants are expected to do normal neonatal follow up and general paediatric clinics for all ages(0-16yr) in non- hot weeks. Preference will be given to candidates who have done a SPIN module in neonates and can demonstrate adequate neonatal experience.

This post does not have any commitment as Resident on call unless there are emergency gaps on the rota. General Paediatrics cohort will cover A & E and General Paediatrics. There is no commitment to cover general paediatric on calls. We would encourage part time and job sharers to apply for these jobs. TWH at Pembury has 6500 deliveries per annum.
