We are looking for enthusiastic, hardworking Band 4 (or Band 5 depending on experience) Pharmacy Technician to join our dynamic and friendly pharmacy clinical team based at Queen Mary's hospital in Sidcup. Join us as a Senior Pharmacy Technician, providing a high quality medicines management service to our patients on the wards under the supervision of a Clinical Pharmacist. We support the development of our staff through our Education and Training Department.
You must be registered with the GPhC as a Pharmacy Technician and ideally have at least 3 months’ post registration experience. Hospital experience is desirable

Main duties of the job

You will provide safe and efficient pharmaceutical care, ensuring that all medication required is assembled in a timely manner. 

You will provide the full range of clinical duties of a pharmacy technician with particular emphasis on Medicine Reconciliation including the use of patient’s own drugs and facilitate the discharge medication supply.

You will train as a Tobacco Dependency Advisor and offer support and advice to all inpatients that wish to give up smoking.

You must have obtained or be working towards the accredited checking pharmacy technician (ACPT) qualification. You must have obtained or be working towards the medicine optimisation programme or have a Pharmacy Technician Integrated Apprenticeship qualification or an equivalent qualification.

  • BTEC NVQ(QCF) Level 3 in Pharmacy Service Skills
  • Registered with GPhC as a Pharmacy Technician
  • Accredited Medicines Management qualification
  • Nationally accredited pharmacy checking technician
