At East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust our vision is to be widely recognised for providing safe, personal and effective care.  We currently provide high quality services and treat over 600,000 people across East Lancashire and the surrounding area. We employ over 9,500 staff, many of whom are internationally renowned and have won awards for their work.

Job overview

Are you looking for a career where your organisational skills and attention to detail directly support compassionate care? Do you thrive in a role that combines administrative excellence with the opportunity to help patients and families during critical moments in their lives? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our specialist palliative care team as a Clerical Officer.

Why This Role Is Special

Palliative care is about providing comfort, dignity, and support to those facing serious illnesses. As this is a 7-day service, you will be required to work weekends on an estimated 1 in 4 basis.  You will also need access to your own transport as there will be occasions where you are required to work from our Hospital team base at Royal Blackburn Hospital.

Main duties of the job

  • Provide pro-active and responsive operational support to the team
  • Supporting families and patients by providing clear, compassionate communication
