Lead a team providing nursing care for 32 patients in an intermediate care unit.

Provide management, human resource, governance, budgetary and clinical leadership on the unit.

Stamford Unit is a 96 bedded intermediate care unit consisting of 3 floors or 32 beds each.  We provide care for patients through four pathways; rehabilitation, complex discharge planning, community step up and end of life.  

 

Main duties of the job

  • To carry continuous responsibility and accountability for the management of the unit, making effective use of resources and ensuring the highest standards of patient care are achieved on a 24-hour basis.
  • To always act in a manner consistent with the Code of Professional Conduct, carrying out his/her duties in accordance with Trust policies and procedures.
  • To demonstrate expert knowledge and skills in the clinical area.
  • To lead, support, supervise and teach all staff, acting as a role model for the staff with regard to professional behaviour and supporting the strategy for nursing and allied health professionals.
  • To proactively participate within the management of the Division, including acting as senior bleep holder for the division.
  • To maintain own clinical and professional development by keeping up to date with new trends and developments, interpret and incorporate them as necessary in to your work.
