An opportunity has arisen for a full time substantive  Specialist in Orthodontist post at Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust.   We are expanding our orthodontic service to meet the high demand for secondary care orthodontic services in Tameside and Glossop.  This post would suit someone with a MOrth who would like one or two clinical days in secondary care and we would be happy to consider a job share.  The post would be fully supported by the two existing orthodontic consultants and the caseload provides a wide range of interesting malocclusions.  For informal discussion and visits contact Dr Nicky Mandall 0161-922-6383.

Main duties of the job

Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust are seeking applications for an Associate Specialist in Orthodontics to join the Team. The successful applicant should have the ability and commitment to promote best practice in patient management in conjunction with delivering local and national targets.  Your experience and enthusiasm will be supported by a skilled team of clinical staff along with a full complement of dedicated and trained dental nurses.

Education and Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Bachelor of Dental Surgery or equivalent
  • MFDS or equivalent
  • Relevant postgraduate training
Desirable criteria
  • Membership of relevant professional societies
  • Certificate in conscious sedation or IV sedation

Relevant Specialty Experience

Essential criteria
  • Hold or be eligible for full registration with licence to practise the GDC.
  • 6 months’ experience after full GDC registration or equivalent, and evidence of achievement of foundation competences, in line with GDC standards / Good Medical Practice
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of UK Healthcare system - employment or clinical attachment

  • Ability to work well with colleagues within and across departments
  • Willingness to seek guidance from consultant team
