We are looking for an organised reliable Pharmacy Distribution Assistant to help ensure the safe and efficient supply of medicines across our hospital. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive, store, and distribute pharmaceutical products.
  • Maintain accurate stock records and support inventory management.
  • Deliver medicines to wards and departments in a timely manner.
  • Work closely with pharmacy and clinical teams to support patient safety.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to high standards.

Previous experience in a healthcare or logistics setting is desirable but not essential, full training provided.

Main duties of the job

The Pharmacy Distribution Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the safe, efficient, and timely distribution of medicines and pharmaceutical supplies across the hospital. Working closely with pharmacy staff and clinical teams, the postholder ensures that stock is delivered, replenished, and stored appropriately in line with Trust policies and procedures.

  • Good general education, preferably Mathematics and English at GCSE level

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Can communicate effectively verbally and in writing with patients and service users, particularly by telephone
  • Able to prioritise own workload within the scope of organised rotas

  • Recent experience of working in a busy Hospital or Community Pharmacy or another public/customer service industry

  • Able to meet the demands of a busy department and specifically to work quickly and accurately under pressure
