GPST Administrator - 30 hours

 

We are looking for an enthusiastic team member to join the Medical Education Department here at Tameside & Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust.   Joining a small but dedicated team and forming part of the wider Learning and Education Service, the post holder will report to the Medical Education Manager and will work closely with the Medical Education Team to offer a high standard of administrative support specifically for the our Resident Doctors in Training and their programmes.

 

The post holder will be responsible for all aspects of the administration and coordination of all our Resident Doctors in Training GP Rotations. The post holder will work closely with the GP Specialty Training Leads based here in the Trust as well as our external partners, NHS England Northwest and the Lead Employer, Mersey and West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.  You will administrate the process of their rotations, supported by their Induction Programmes as well as organising their teaching and other pastoral and administrative support as is required.

 

The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator, highly organised with excellent attention to detail and will work with the medical education team, trust colleagues within all the specialties and our external education partners to provide the highest standards of educational administration across the trust. 

 

The hours will be 30 hours per week with some degree of flexibility.

Main duties of the job

 The post holder will work directly with the GPST Resident Doctors in Training and support their clinical placements, recording and coordinating their rotational placements.  This will involve keeping accurate data tracking for their posts and working collaboratively with all the Specialties they are placed into.  As there is a high degree of data accuracy, attention to detail and maintaining databases are a key part of the role. A strong communicator who is confident and can communicate well with a broad range of colleagues and external stakeholders, demonstrating excellent interpersonal skills in order to support the Resident Doctors in Training work streams.  With an eye for detail and problem-solving skills and working alongside a great Medical Education Team, this is an exciting opportunity to develop and enhance your career.  Overall, the Resident Doctors in Training Administrator role is crucial for supporting the next generation of doctors within the NHS.
