With a primary focus on Safeguarding Adults the postholder will report to the Named Nurse for Safeguarding Adults. The postholder will be required to have or develop specialist knowledge in all age safeguarding practice to reflect national developments in safeguarding towards a family first approach.
Main duties of the job
- Support the operational delivery, service development and monitoring of the statutory and regulatory safeguarding responsibilities of the organisation
- Provide specialist knowledge, advice, and expert practice to health professionals consistent with requirements of the Safeguarding duties as outlined within the Care Act 2014 Children Act 1989/2004, Working Together 2023, and Safeguarding Children Partnerships policies and procedures.
- Provide an expert service that safeguards and promotes the welfare of those at risk, whilst maintaining a ‘Think Family Approach’ to the Safeguarding agenda.
- Continue to promote the collaborative working practices that currently exist between the adult and children safeguarding functions ensuring that safeguarding is embedded throughout the organisation across the lifespan.
- Provide evidence-based specialist information, advice, guidance and support required to help staff practice safely to safeguard confidently and effectively.
- Contribute to facilitating delivery of high-quality safeguarding services to an agreed and auditable quality standard that complies with all national and local legislation and guidance.
- Provide visible, pro-active, high quality clinical presence, specialist advice and training to staff in relation to all age safeguarding principles

- Must demonstrate significant experience at a senior level within health and social care
