The Radiology Department at Tameside General Hospital is a vibrant and busy department providing a service to the people of Tameside.  We are looking for a new member of staff for our Radiology Booking team who deal with all out-patient bookings for cross-sectional and ultrasound scanning.  You will be communicating with patients and clinicians regularly throughout the day so a friendly telephone manner along with excellent organisational skills is essential.  We are constantly striving to develop and improve our service so embracing change for our patient service is also essential.

 

   

Main duties of the job

The post holder is responsible for providing a comprehensive  and efficient booking and scheduling service within Radiology to ensure patients are booked within diagnostic target dates and urgency timescales and that appointment booking templates are managed to full capacity.    They will have responsibility for waiting lists and radiology booking schedules and must ensure confidentiality is maintained at all times.

The successful candidate will have a good knowledge of diagnostic turnaround times and a knowledge of the radiology department and the CRIS system would be an advantage.  

They will be dealing with telephone calls from members of the public and the clinical team within the Trust so a good telephone manner and empathetic nature are essential.
